Ruby just wants to know why we need to take shelter in the one room without a soft place to lay.
So far we’re up to two confirmed and two suspected tornado touchdowns from this storm. Assuming it’s not extended again we have 15 minutes more of the warning.
If I see a talking scarecrow hopefully it turns out to be the cheap beer I drank earlier and nothing more.
Did you hear that?
::Update::
It looks like the worst is past. There was a touchdown uncomfortably close to me. The news is reporting snowplows being used to clear the debris from the interstate about 4 miles from my house.

Sirens are still going off by UD. Stay safe.

Yikes. Stay safe, bud.

It's the cat. It figured destroying the house would be worthwhile if it meant the dog was gone.

They just now stopped going off in Huber.
Hopefully you have a shelter area nearby just Incase.

Keep the longboi safe!

Our warning is now lifted, and she is back to her comfy bed.
There was one touchdown uncomfortably close, but thankfully it looks like we got lucky.

Just saw the news reporting that they’re using snowplows on 75 north of 70 to clear debris from the tornado that touched down in the Northridge area. That’s about 4 miles east of me.

Stay safe! I was so glad when I moved back east from the Midwest and a thunderstorm could be enjoyed without trepidation again

The cats are taking shelter in the linen closet. They are too happy to be laying on piles of soft towels to care about much else.

Damn. I’m safe, we got an all clear

If my wife hadn’t been borderline freaking out I probably would’ve been sitting in a rocking chair in front of the house. I just stepped outside and as far as I can tell it looks like we got lucky.

Glad you're safe.

Good to hear. I’m still waiting to hear from one friend that lives just outside of Englewood, but everyone else seems to be in the clear.
She just reached out. She has two downed trees and looks like her shed and fence are destroyed, and she is waiting till morning to see how her roof looks. All in all not bad given that she could see the funnel.

Damn. Some friends in a group chat were sending pictures of carnage. It's not looking, good to the North.

I did a quick walk around here, and what I can see looks like I got lucky. I’ll get a better look in the morning and keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way.

My two longbois don’t even like rain, let alone huge thunderstorms . Unfortunately here in Tennessee we see quite a few. The dog beds get dumped in the closet they hide in and the wife and I head straight back to bed.

This was our first serious storm with Ruby. She did amazingly well. I had to carry her into the bathroom, and she clearly wanted out so she could get back to bed, but that was it.
I wasn’t surprised that the noise didn’t bother her; I’ve already had to vacuum around her once when she refused to get up.

Glad you’re safe.
My first dog, Jackie, used to have carpet in her dog house. She always threw it out so she could have a cool, hard surface. Same way with the bed in the garage. She preferred the cool concrete.

We were aware of the situation, but there wasn’t so much as a whisper of wind on the ‘Boro. Glad you’re safe!

Glad you made it through unscathed. We had one last spring uncomfortably close to our house. Trying to corral the doggo into the closet was a challenge - she thought we were playing a game, so she kept running away. Finally lured her with a treat, lol.

Glad everything is all good. I live on the northern edge of 275 and we didn’t even get rain. It’s weird how close we are but yet how much different the weather was.

Greyhounds need some padding for their bony joints. She has a cooling pad that sits inside her favorite bed to help her keep cool.

I had to carry her into the bathroom. Thankfully, she really likes being carried so that wasn’t bad.
Then she whined awhile because she was convinced she was going to get a bath.

It’s amazing how much difference even a little distance can make. We didn’t get very bad winds but got close to 4” of rain in a few hours.
I just had some small branches and loose trash to pick up, but 4 miles away they were using snowplows to clear the highway of debris.

My grandparents are in Miamisburg. I talked to them this morning and they didn’t even have a leaf blown out of a tree.
I got very lucky and just had some trash blowing around and small branches down.

Plus, there’s also the fact that she’s a spoiled rotten princess, but we’ll say it’s the bony joints.

Let’s go with that. :D
My Jackie was a Shepherd/Retriever mix I got from the Human Society. Rugged, go anywhere gal. The only thing she really needed was to be sheared of her long black and tan coat in the heat of summer. She looked like Dr. Moreau had spliced the head of one dog on the body of another after that.
Plus, she would go down to the pond behind the barn for a dip to cool off. Yeah, that smelled as good as it sounds.

I can smell the pond water dog from here.
My sister-in-law had a lab shepherd mix that would bolt for the retaining pond in their neighborhood any chance it got. She learned quickly to just let it go after getting pulled in more than once when her hand got caught in the leash.
